Tailwater Temperature Monitors

 

Over the past several years, we have heard several concerns about the lower water flows on the South Holston River causing warmer water on the lower stretches of the river.  OMTU and the Blue Ridge Guide Association purchased and installed cellular water temperature monitors on the upper, middle, and lower portions of the South Holston and Watauga Rivers. These temperature monitors will provide valuable information to us and our conservation partners to give us a better understanding at what is happening in our rivers.  The data from the temperature sensors will be transmitted to the dashboards once per hour.
